After resolving my start problems using R on the XP install disc I found the following. C:/windows ( which is hda, primary master drive. F:/ unknown (which is hdb primary slave that has Linux10 on it. My windows PC starts up with C:/ and win XP comes up. Is there a way of getting it to start up on F:/? If so what do I do in BIOS. Can I confire LILO after install?

What you did with the windows disk was rewrite your master boot record with windows-only info.
You can do the same thing with your linux install disk, but it'll rewrite your MBR so you can boot both linux and windows. By the way, there's no such thing as Linux 10, I think you mean Mandrake Linux 10.
If that's the case, boot off the install disk, and at the boot prompt type "linux rescue". Follow the prompts from there.
