WIndows not recognizing phone

Windows xp does not recognize when i plug my phone into the usb port. I have tried all the ports on the computer and i have tried using different the devices in the ports so i kno they work. But windows does nothing when i plug in my phone, it does not ask me to install any drivers.
I kno the phone is working because iv'e used it on another computer. Please help.

did you install any drivers for the phone? sometimes if you don't install drivers it won't look for it. Also did you test to see if your usb ports are working? maybe you got a conflict.

same thing with my moto phone. had to download moto phone tools has the drivers with the software. that's how i get on the www.

Yeah i have Moto Phone tools. And i have tried installing the drivers before but it just said windows cannot install modem. Installation Failed. And then all of a sudden it doesnt even look for drivers anymore and it doesnt see the phone. And yes i have tested the usb ports and they all do work!
