Comment:

I keep getting a "Windows - No Disk message whenever I start up my computer. It is very irritating. I usually have to click "continue" several times before it goes away. Any suggestions on how I can eliminate this?

Jennifer: the exact message is "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive." You are then given three choices "cancel" "continue" and I believe the other is "try again"

Jim: the support site was not the issue

Thanks!

Might be a failing harddrive or this link below might work. I hope it is the second one.

Listen for clicking noise from the hard drive. That's usually and indication that the drive is getting ready to die.

If it only happens when you initially boot up, that could mean the drive is very slow getting up to speed and ready. That's also a warning!

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

How
to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP

To help troubleshoot error messages or other
issues when you cannot determine the cause of
the issue, disable common startup programs,
settings, and drivers to eliminate possible
software conflicts when you start Microsoft
Windows XP. This procedure is known as
"clean booting."

Or..BIOS is looking at the Floppy as first boot option, and there is a non-bootable floppy in the drive.. That would generate that error.

All drives are properly labeled, and there is a zip disk in the zip drive.
