I do. I also have them installed on separate drives, so there's at least some separation there. In theory, as long as they're not on the same partition, you should be okay.

and do you boot the HDD depending on which OpSystem you wanna boot ?

i have WinXp as my ide Primary Master and WinME on a seperate HDD as ide Secondary Master. each are separate "entities" without "combining" them both with a dual-boot manager. if i'm running XP and wanna launch ME, i just reboot, into BIOS, set ME HDD to boot, exit save yes.

Actually, no. I just use Vista's boot loader.

The order here is important. You need to have WinXP installed before installing Vista.
