Windows Messenger Problem

There is a problem recently, where I cannot receive files from certain users when I use Windows Messenger.
This particulary happens with MOST people who use MSN Messenger, but I use WINDOWS Messenger.
However, I can send and receive from MSN Messenger with certain users.
Any ideas why to i cannot receive files from MOST MSN Messenger users?
(No, there is no firewall problems that I am aware of)
