i have downloaded windows media player 10 because i have had problems with series 9. But i am having the same problem. I can not get any sound when i play DVD but i do get sound when i play CD. I am also having problems when i play DVDs " WMP cannot play this DVD because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection" I have gone through the troubleshoot for this problem but it has not rectified the problem.

Thank you for your time.

First off, that whole troubleshooting guide, when does it ever work?? Okay, first try uninstalling and reinstalling media player to resolve any conflicts that the old player might have brought over to the new player. Second, what kind of sound card do u have??

i reinstall windows media player with series 10 but it still didnt make any difference. I have brought a new sound card which is compatible with XP. There is a conflict that is shown on the device manager, i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with the setup CD but there is still a comflict with the audio manager. I still get sound on my audio files even tho there is a audio conflict.....that may sound stupid but im new too all this PC stuff

Thank you for your time.
