my windows media player keeps poping up when i start up my computer. does anyone know how to stop this?

Try Start/Run type msconfig then Services and Startup and uncheck it from those lists.

Greetings:
Start->Run->type/enter "msconfig" (without the quote marks).
Look under the "Startup" tab to see if WindowsMediaPlayer is listed.
If it is, uncheck the box, then "OK" out of the msconfig box and restart the PC.

when i type msconfig in the run window, nothing happens or pops up, is there anyway of getting to the msconfig?

After typing in the cmd(msconfig) all you do is hit the enter key on your keyboard. Does that not work?
