Your ISP is a common carrier. They have no obligation to you other than to provide access to their communications services. Content from third parties is not their responsibility. It's a bit unfair to them to say that they "blew you off".
That being said - what version of WMP do you have? Have you read and understood the requirements listed in CNN's video FAQ? Specifically the items listed under "technical"?

I have WMP 10. I followed the instrctions on CNN and contacted my ISP as they suggested after all failed. Thanks in advance.

So - describe in more detail what happens when you try to play the videos. Do you get any error messages, for example? "Can't open videos" isn't nearly enough information to even start guessing what is wrong.

i have the same problem~
on sites such as worldcybergames.com and ycc.co.kr
whenever i try to watch videos, the box opens up and the WMP player is there but nothing plays when i press play..
the status bar on the bottom says ready and when i press the play button, a quick message says buffering or downloading and gos right back to ready and dosent play... whats wrong??
