Comment: Sorry to post twice. This is a different problem that is annoying me. Anytime i try to run WMP webpages, I get an error message pop-up saying "Windows media player has encountered a problem...." If i click that pop-up to get further details, it says the problem is with wininet.dll I realize that this file is critical to run internet based media. My question is whay is it corrupt, and how do i replace or fix this problem in XP Home SP2. Much appreciated, Maceman

Reply: (edit)search for the problem in google. microsoft may have an answer. this sounds like a much more serious problem than you think it is, it involves editing the registry.

Reply: (edit)I am very familiar with registry editing, so if you have an answer, please list it. I've search google and forums and microsoft to no end- with no results. Thx.
