I to all
I just reinstalled windows and made a nice Ghost of the drive for quick restore! And now the damn media player after all the updates installed won't play wmv files!
I get this: "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
And then this: "AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.3802 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: e8505100"
How do i fix it! I alsoi believe that the ghost image has the same problem! So, restoring wont do! And I don't wanna install windows again.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

go to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Installer\

or wherever you have installed media player and see if you can run

mpsetupxp.exe

else try downloading media player off the net
