I have just downloaded Windows Media connect 2 with Windows Media Player 11 and cannot get it to work on my xbox360 . The 360 is picking up my laptop but not my pc which is connected through ethernet . Live works fine, the media connection has been working in the past but all of a sudden stopped . I have every single port needed to be opened opened. Ive turned off all firewalls and that didnt even work . Ive setup up Connect to allow the 360 still nothing...Anyone have any ideas?

"The 360 is picking up my laptop but not my pc which is connected through ethernet"

What do you mean by that?
Whether you are connected via a wired or wireless network connection, both are ethernet.
Do you mean the laptop is connected to the internet via a network cable?

Apparently, most Xbox 360 versions can connect wirelessly.

You are normally required to use an encryption key when you set up a wireless connection in XP SP2 or later.
A wired (network cable) network connection doesn't require one.
If you are trying to connect to a wireless connection, go into Control Panel - Classic View - Network and have it search for available wireless connections. If any have Security Enabled or similar underneath them, in order to connect to it or them, what ever you're trying to connect to that must be using the same encryption key, often 64 bit WEP (10 characters), or 128 bit WEP (26 characters), and the SSID of the thing you are trying to connect must be the the same as the SSID (the name broadcasted by the device, and the displayed name of the connection in Windows) of the thing you're trying to connect to.

If you are trying to connect to a router that connects to the internet, the encryption key for a wireless connection is shown in the router's configuration - you access that configuration by typing 192.168.x.x (x are numbers - varies depending on the make and model) in your browser, and typing a user name and possibly a password (default username is often admin - may or may not require a password by default - varies depending on the make and model).

If you have not yet used the wireless feature of the router, that key may be set to all 0's, or wireless may not be turned on and the WLAN led on the front of the router may not be on, and if the WLAN led isn't on you will not see a wireless connection to your router when you search for wireless connections in Windows.

There is a wireless connection Wizard, and a Network Setup Wizard (e.g. in Control Panel) in XP.

As I said
"Whether you are connected via a wired or wireless network connection, both are ethernet.
Do you mean the laptop is connected to the internet via a network cable?"

Does both the desktop and laptop connect to the internet via the same router that has both wired and wireless networking capability?

If yes regarding both, did you run the Network Setup Wizard (e.g. in Control Panel)?
- you may have to run it on both the laptop and the desktop computer
- file and printer sharing must be enabled
- the workgroup name must be the same - by default every time you run the wizard it changes back to MSHOME - if that isn't what your workgroup name is, change it to what it is.

All thats done in the last paragraph , nothing works . The laptop is ran wireless to the same modem as my pc . The 360 is plugged in through a ethernet cable into the back of my modem(2wire) like most 360's are unless they run the wireless usb adapter sold seperate. Everythings enabled and I know microsoft wont be able to help.

Okay, then this does not apply in your case:
"Apparently, most Xbox 360 versions can connect wirelessly."

The PC is connected to the router via a network cable?

Can your laptop access your PC and visa versa over your local network?
If so, I have no idea what is wrong, unless the Xbox just can't access more than one computer at a time.

There should be an Xbox 360 support site, or an Xbox 360 forum somewhere, if not on the Microsoft site, then on the web.

"The 360 is plugged in through a ethernet cable into the back of my modem(2wire).."

I don't have an Xbox - what two wires - do you mean two cables - what two cables?
