windows logo test

Specs: Windows XP
can anyone tell me why every time i download,install or try to update win/Microsoft i get the windows cannot verify logo warning even on windows updates (at the same time it tells me to update active x controls but get same message.when i try seems to download but dose not) and now it wont even let me try to update win/Microsoft,also i cant open documents any more i get ,a command cannot be preformed because a dialog box is open, any advice or help is appreciated thank you (and thanks to all who reply to any post it helps more than just the poster)

Are you talking about the Windows Genuine Advantage notifications? Or are you talking about the "allow/deny" prompt related to ActiveX controls?

If it's the latter, you can go to the Tools menu in Internet explorer, then Internet Options. On the Advanced tab is a button to "Reset..." the IE settings. That is the first place to start.

well it is a windows warning but now when i go to the page i get, The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. (error code 0x800b0001) was able to find updates but wouldn't finish installing told me to update the active x clicked on the link and gave me the logo verify warning then after that i just get the other message.. just tried ie reset but dint work
