Windows Live Messenger

Specs: Windows XP
When I try to open Windows Live Messenger, I get the following message:

"Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Messenger worked perfectly before. I had it set to not load on startup. I tried reinstalling it, but am still experiencing the same issue.

Any advice?

I did the clean uninstall, downloaded Windows Live Messenger again and reinstalled it, but it is still giving me the same message.

I did have some luck with a System Restore. I set my computer back a week and I have Windows Live Messenger working for a bit; however, upon shutting down my computer and starting it up again the next day, I was getting the same error message.

Any other ideas? I'm at a loss with this one.

All you can do now is scan for a virus ( use as many scanners as you can find ) or change your password.

If you get an error number google it or put the EXACT error message into google.
