Comment:

I've deleted a Hotmail account, but it continues to appear in the drop-down list of names available for Windows Live Messenger. I'd like it to disappear. So, I checked in the registry as I thought I could delete it through there. But it's not there. Any ideas how I can get rid of it?

try uninstalling and re-installing the application.

I've tried that twice with no luck. Is there anywhere else besides the registry that it could be hidden?

after uninstalling, delete the program folder manually (there might be additional folders referring to msn/live messenger in in places like 'documents and settings\your account\application data\microsoft' and 'local settings\application data' to be deleted, search for them), then reinstall.

It worked. It was hidden in about a dozen places. As well, there is a option / feature on the start page called "Remember Me." But below that is another feature called "Forget Me." I had tried "Forget Me" before but it didn't work. It worked this time. Thanks for your help.
