I don't really have a good answer on why my windows key isnt working... i looked online and couldnt find anything. i just recently installed a new AV and uninstalled a few programs like Spybot and i noticed yesterday that it doesnt work anymore! i love that key and it annoys me that it doesnt work anymore.

one more thing to note is that i don't know for sure if it was the new AV because i think it might have happened before i changed my AV.

Is it a legal key or a crack?

""i love that key and it annoys me that it doesnt work anymore" What isn't working?" and what's to love about key?

Are we talking about a Windows Product Key as in Windows Genuine Key or some other kind of lovable key?

:)

Are you referring about the windows key on the keyboard?

trek, you may have found something that makes some sense.

If you are referring to your Keyboard then try removing it from Device manager and rebooting. Windows should then reinstall it.

lol, i had no idea people thought so much about the windowsinstall key not the windows key on the keyboard... but my problem is the windows key on the keyboard.

are you saying that i should uninstall my keyboard drivers then reinstall them? i don't have them with me but i can get them and try that. in the mean time, any other suggestions? oh yeah, i have a logitech G11 if that makes a difference.

HAH, i figured it out. taking note that my keyboard is not a regualr keyboard, i googled "logitech g11 problem windows key" and like the third link down there's a link to "http://www.reviewspring.com/logitech-g11-keyboard-a25.php" so i look at this one and at the very bottom there's a pic and the second to last paragraph explains what it was. THANKS ME!!

thanks guys for making me mention my keyboard name so that i could figure it out! in this problem i learned a couple keyboard tricks. crtl+esc does the same thing as the windows key when pressed once (my substitute for the past couple of days)

Right. Ctrl-Esc does indeed bring up the Start Menu.

Lol the G11 has a special switch to disable the windows key. Very handy for gaming, I actually hate the windows key, when I accidentally click it, and get alt tabbed. I tried to disable it, even with registry edits, incredibly difficult to disable. You should be happy you can disable it.

I usually call the "windows key" the Super key. not because its super, but thats what its called on Linux.

lol, i love this key and i do gaming. i have 2 gigs of ram and a fairly good processor so it's no problem for me to alt+tab outta the game and back in; it's my friend!
