I just put together a new computer. Motherboard, cpu, etc., etc. I am using the HD from the old machine.

When the machine boots it gets to the windows screen that asks how I want to boot up Normally, LKGC, or Safe Mode. No matter how it is told to boot, it reboots and comes back to the same screen - how do I want windows to boot.
This HD and windows were working in the old machine.
What to do?

You need to do a windows Repair so the OS recognizes the new hardware. Boot from the Win XP cd and choose the repair option the second time it comes up. Don't use the repair console, wait until it detects the installed version.
