A friend of mine seems to have numerous problems and maybe they are all
related, i can't tell.
He had on his computer a trial version of McAfee Antivirus. But of course itwasn't the full package. It was virus, pop-up blocker and antispam. He got
the program free with his new computer. He kept it up to date and he said
there were no problems until now.
The problems he has are varied
* Some websites he can't visit, or he can visit sometimes and not othertimes.
* Some programs seem to grab 100% of the CPU especially when he visitscertain websites. One of them is the orange website, who provide him with is
internet access. He has a webmail account with them, and sometimes when
visits the site, he then can't do anything on his computer, but end the
internet explorer program. He is using ie7.
A more worrying this is this.
He gets a lot of Window dialog boxes popping saying, well here is an example
Windows title: Microsoft Internet Explorer (X)(?) Mighty cleaner may find dangerous traces that need to be cleaned. .....
Click Ok to start mighty cleaner scanner to remove compromising traces...<OK> <Cancel>
Also on the bottom right hand side of the screen is a web page that says
web page title: WARNING You must protect your system from threats - Windows
Internet Explorer. The web page starts http://mightycleaner.
when i cancelled it i put it in the blocked websites area
He then uninstalled McAfee, i think he was a bit miffed with them, because
they didn't tell him it was only partial protection, but they were taking £60
a year off him. He put on Norton 360, but he still gets these pop up Windows
Explorer dialog boxes. Is there a way to stop people doing this? Its one
thing to have a web page pop up blocker, but it doesn't stop the Windows
dialog boxes popping up.
Below is a list of all the running programs on his computer. i haven't hadtime to check them. Are any of the rouge programs that should be removed?

Your post is extremely hard to read. Your friend has too much junk running. There must be at least a dozen processes I don't recognise. Have your friend remove all non-essential programs from the startup group and enter the program setup of some of the others to change the settings that have them run at startup.
Googling each listing in task manager may give a clue to what it is for.
Have him install CCleaner and run it on a regular basis.
AntiVirus suites are difficult to remove. Usually takes a removal tool from the AV site.

There sure is a lot of crap loading at startup...many are unnecessary or can be started on an "as-needed" basis.
Get rid of Norton, it's a bloated hog. Try a freebie such as Avast! or AVG Free 8.0. And get yourself a Trojan Remover & disable System Restore before running it.
Google "mspmspv.exe"
"And that's the fishing line, because Sharkboy said so!"
