When I turn my computer on, why does windows installer come up then it tries to "copy" something even though nothing is in the drive then I get an internal error its so annoying help

Sorry Michele, this is beyond my area of expertice. contact DELL tech support, they'll know what to do.

If you do then you can do a system repair (if you have win xp this will be easier} By booting to the os disk you can also try pressing f8 or f10 as the pc is booting and pick the option for booting to settings when last worked
Is the pc brand new?
