Im in need of serious help. I believe my pc's are infected with some unknown virus.

I have been using a key drive to work at a remote location, away from home which has many antivirus programs installed and updated daily.

I recently came home working with the same key drive, and trying to get more office work done, I now have contaminated my pcs, I believe this happened because I went to two different pc's and same things started happening.

Now all my home pc's all have the same error running on them Windows installer pops up for about 5 seconds and vanishes, this happens a few hundred thousand times a day now.

I went to control panel and ran administrative services to check the event viewer yea its listed many thousands of time.

I have 3 home computers and they are all doing the same things, I have updated all anti-virus on the systems and run full system scans took a few days here. Half a million files later no infections found.

I use AVAST, CLAMWIN, Spyware Terminator, I also have Mcafee on the laptop, and nothing shows up on the key drive. but all systems reflect same problems now. At boot-up I get this error as well for a few seconds. The other two computers have windows XP and 1 is with Vista.

I have run Lava-soft, and Spy-bot, updates and scans, I have run A-squared products, nothing is found. I then ran ANVIR task manager and Process Explorer and Hijack this to check the computer logs, nothing seems out of the ordinary,

The pop up is so quick that I cant get a view of the system processes before it quits. Can someone please help me, I am about to kill my pc's...

I thought maybe some kind of trojan or virus could cause this, but nothing is showing up. My pcs are running okay, no slow downs are to be noticed here.

I have not emailed anyone, as I was afraid this could be passed, so I have restricted to using any kind of communication, and I have restricted my firewalls all the way up to tighten down on security zones. I run Comodo Firewall with Defense, and Zonealarm together.

Please explain how to fix this problem, is it a registry issue or can I reinstall the windows installer to fix this?

Please email me directly at Jecenlighted(at)aol.com
{please suppliment the at with @ ) Thanks for all your help everyone...

Event Viewer has many of these(Detection of product '{24BEBF2E-73F3-4599-840B-EDC612CCDD0D}', feature 'DestinationClient' failed during request for component '{3207D1B1-80E5-11D2-B95D-006097C4DE24}')

This has not helped, I did reinstall, have same problems, I did find a trojan.agent.686686 or something. Not sure if it was relevant it was just found tonight, awaiting anyones response. Please let me know how to detect these trojans are there better programs available?

I was thinking about buying a new antivirus, which is best Mcafee or Kaspersky? Any other suggestions for which I should get? Thanks everyone

Do macs have these problems?

Sincerely,
Justin

Try using Sysinternals autoruns and rootkitrevealer to find what startup items are running and to detect rootkits.

Can only speak for my Mac's ("Do Mac's have these problems?") They have their own unique set's of problems, but nothing like PC's. I have to use my Mac to seek help for the wife's PC problems. This is not a commercial..just one man's opinion. Good luck!

About the emailing. Email yourself and see if it contains a virus.

That will at least resolve any concerns on that.
