um, a few questions for you first, lol, how are you installing xp, is it straight onto a new hard drive? are you booting in dos or ms dos? what type of video card do you have? is it a card or stright onto the motherboard. i had this problem once when building a temporary pc. the problem was that my video card wasnt reconised, and you carnt install drivers whilst installing an os, what i done was took out the graphics card, and plugged the vga straight into the motherboards output for the vga, (i carnt remeber the exact word for it lol:) ), you must take the card out because it will over ride the motherboards video. hopes this helps, pcben
