windows is displaying many fonts huge! problem started when I was installing new fonts onto the system, this is a recent install, and I was copying old fonts off another computer to get my fonts list back up. to avoid the font already installed message, requring a button click to continue, I deleted all the fonts from the system that I could (I now realize that was a big mistake) and I copied all the fonts back over. now the system has every font that it used to, they are all there. but some things, mostly message boxes are showing up in huge font sizes, they must be 40-50pt size. did I delete a font that windows was using, and it automatically started using anohter font? one that is just bigger? I really need some urgent help to fix this, I need this computer for school! problem is not limited to IE, in IE, some fonts are normal, other's appear huge. most dialog boxes appear huge, and yes, I have gone into display properties, its setup for tahoma 8pt, or 10 or something like that.
thanks for any and all help.

this was a couple of days ago, but I already tried system restore, the most recent resore point did not fix the problem, the previous restore points would not load, they just give me an error restoring files. I have the computer back up every night, but by the time I realized there was a problem, the previous backup was no long available.
