Windows Explorer/FireFox problems

Specs: Win XP Pro SP2, Pent 2.2 Duo Core, 4 Gigs
I keep up with all of the Windows updates and don't know if a recent update has caused my problem but I am having problems with my browser, screen view vibrating violently intermittantly and I believe it has occurred since I installed FireFox on my computer (Could be wrong suspecting this software). I have been using Windows Explorer Ver. 6 and have not migrated to version 7. Do any of you pros know of what might be causing this condition on my monitor. Also, when I am doing a search, I will type in the term that I want to search and when I hit the space bar to separate the words in a sentense, the search closes. say the least. Thanks for any help with this.

"I have been using Windows Explorer Ver. 6 and have not migrated to version 7."

FYI: Windows Explorer is a GUI (graphical user interface) that provides access to your files/file system. Windows Explorer is accessed by double-clicking the "My Computer" icon.

I assume you meant to say Internet Explorer, which is a web browser.

This is a common mistake, but one which can cause much confusion. Mistakenly describing an Internet Explorer problem as a Windows Explorer problem can result in many irrelevant replies/fixes.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.
