windows explorer color highlighting of right hand pane cols

Specs: Windows XP
today i noticed that my xp windows explorer performs a faint color highlight of the 'name' column for hard drive folders and the 'date modified' column for flash drive folder columns. Can these colors be set? reset? changed? eliminated?

Are they blue? If so it means they are compressed folders.

they are not blue. i don't compress my drives. perhaps i should.

i think the highlighting, faint as it is, reflects the column sorted upon. i'm not sure. i could not find anything online when i googled around.

Don't compress your drives, I was talking about the folders being compressed.

What color is the highlight?

my error. i should have said 'i don't compress my folders.' sorry for that imprecise description.

the color is a very faint reddish color and i only noticed it when i move the window to my right hand screen ( i have two screens ) and viewed the window from the side instead of straight on.

i'm now thinking that this is a function of window's explorer and we are not given access to change this.

thanks for your continuted interest
