I am having a problen with Windows Explore.
When I point to a drive and Right Click, Explore lock up.

I go into Windows Task Manager and it shows Explore.exe Not Responding. The same results is achieved by first Left Clicking on a device and then clicking on File in the menu.

Obviously there is some sort of corruption of a specific modure in explore.exe. Can only the Windows Explore.exe be reinstalled, or do I have to reinstall Windows XT?

I need to be able to format CD's and 3.5 floppies and I can't. The floppies I can do at the command prompt, but not the CD's. I'm using an IOMEGA 16x10x40 CD-RW.

You might use sfc.exe /scannow to check files.
I would look at event viewer or make perfmon tests to see what is going on too.

Ran the sfc.exe /scannow, but everything checked out OK. The problem is still there.

Note:
I am running Windows XP Home Edition and I used the Home Edition Cd instead of the Professional 2 CD as requested and it ran fine.
