"My windows xp home edition was installed by a manufactuer called iqon so i dont have any discs what so ever, but i do have the product key". You were supposed to create your own set of restore disks when you first go the computer. You may still be able to, if you can sort though this current issue. Otherwise you may be able to purchase a restore set from the manufacturer.
Have you recently installed any new hardware or software? Try removing any removable drives or memory in card reader slots and disconnecting any unnecessary peripheral hardware like printers, scanners, etc. and then try booting again.
Ok i have done as you said and removed some peripheral hardware and rebooted the system, though it just keeps going back to the same message, "We apologize for the incovenience.......". I recently updated my itunes for my ipod that is the only thing i can think of.
Then there isn't much you can do without restore disks. If you need to recover some files immediately you may be able to access and copy files using Knoppix. Knoppix is a live version of Linux that installs to and runs from one CDR. You will need a computer with a disk burner and a fast internet connection.
Your other option to access the drive would be to remove the drive and connect as a slave in another computer. A third option is to use a USB adapter to access the drive.
As stated above you may be able to purchase restore disks from the manufacturer.
What is the brand and model of this computer?
"removed some peripheral hardware" I hope you removed 'ALL' external devices (especially the Ipod) and not just 'some' of them.
Too be honest i would not be to dissapointed if my files are gone, it was mostly only music. if i could get it back to the factory setting i would be happy. my computer is manufactured my iQon technologies and multimedia by phillips, thats really all i know about the computer.

Yeah i have removed all of them, the ipod was removed a couple of days ago, before the message appeared on the screen.
Check this web site: http://www.iqon.ie/index.jsp?1nID=9...
It has recovery/reinstall instructions. There is even a non-destructive re-install, that 'hopefully' will not disturb your files.
ok aegis1, i done as you said. i pressed the f10 key when computer booted up though nothing happened at all, i can press the delete button though to enter the CMOS setup utility
Normally OEM machines like that have a partition on the hard drive with the recovery code. My guess is that someone has deleted the recovery partition. I suggest that you refer back to Othehill's response #3.
Wait for awhile to make sure it isn't just taking some time. You may need to tap the F10 key repeatedly.
I pressed the f10 button repeatedly but nothing happened
when i click the safe mode option, a black screen appears on screen with white writing, it goes through many different things but it stops on:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\Drivers\Mup.sys
I suggest that you check out 'IQON out of warranty support'. Maybe they will sell you a recovery/installation CD.
