Hi,
I've searched through all the posts here about this already but this is a bit of a strange one... If one of our PCs has been sitting for a couple of days with nobody logged in and then you attempt to login, you get the message windows cannot load your profile and is loading a default one, however, and here's the strange part... if we restart the machine and try to log in again with the same account it logs in no problem. Anybody seen this before or know of a way I can sort this without having to restart every time please?

Have you looked at the Event Logs? How much free HDD space is available?

Hi Jennifer,
i found something in the app log, source=userenv, windows was unable to load the registry, DETAIL - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process, then it gives the path to the user's ntuser.dat file. When I checked this file, it's file association had changed to Nero Showtime. Think this would effect it? many thanks for you help!! :)
