windows cannot boot

Specs: Windows XP
pc starts the bios but cann't start the the windows. just diplays a message no operating system found. can anybody help me

Hello. Did you check if you have any disks in? sometimes it will say that when you leave a disk inside the floppy or CD rom. Also try entering to the BIOS and check for the Booting sequence.

Salcha is right. Also try disconnecting everything USB for now to see if it makes it, especially flash drives.
If not, check to see if the BIOS sees your Hard Drive.
If the hard Drive is not detected in the BIOS, try opening the tower (with the computer off), and reseating the cables to your hard drive, and then try booting it up again.
