I have installed the Recovery Console to fix a problem, now when I boot i cannot get rid of it! It asks me if i want to boot WINDOWS XP, which i want, or if i want to boot Windows Default, which I do not want, as this just launchs the Recovery Console. I have uninstalled the console as well! Do I have to change something in BOOT.ini

yes... Your boot.ini should look something like this:
[boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
(Operating systems is all one line and you should only have one...delete the second)
SAVE A BACKUP COPY FIRST IN CASE YOU MAKE A MISTAKE!!!!
