windows xp will not start in safe mode
gets to "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)windows(1)\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\TDI.sys then eventually goes to black screen
This followed a total freeze, turned off and back on had blue screen of death, did scan disk and free space check then froze again
any hope or is it dead - have no xp cd has loaded when pc new no disks supplied

Hey fritzdog,

I recently had a very similar problem. I could boot into the OS normally but not into "safe mode"? I did a "repair install" and it corrected this problem, but you need a setup disk (not a restore disk) to do this. You can do it with another disk and still keep your legitimate product key amusing it is? You can use Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder v2.0.1 to reveal your product key then use another disk to do a repair install or if you can boot into windows you can do an upgrade install from there, not a new installation but an upgrade. Hope that helps?

Larry
