Before install xp I have cpied WAP.dbl and WAP.bak files to an other drive then I install xp home then rename wap.dbl file boot in to safe mode copied oriinal backup file in to system 32 folder but still asking for activation. How can I fix this problem.Please help. Thanks.

Maybe this is what you need --- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312... You are prompted to activate Windows every time you restart your computer

That should be wpa. Won't work if you formatted hard drive. Hard Drive Volume Serial Number (VSN) will change from a previous formatted hard drive.
