Hello to all, A Window named "Network Connections" pops up at start up & restarts. It States " You (or a program have reguested information from go.microsoft.com). Which connection do you want to use?" I had recently installed some software and then Restored the computer to before software installation and it still pops up every time. Is there any way I can find out what/who is requesting this. I checked "Task Manager" while it was up and it shows nothing and there is nothing new in "Start Up". Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. THANKS!!!

"I had recently installed some software"
What software? It is possible you have installed a nasty and system restore won't remove it.
You should be running virus and spyware scans as a first step to try to identify the problem.I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Do you check for, and remove, Spyware ??
Spyware info.from Microsoft
Virus and Spyware scans work better in Windows Safe-Mode.

Hi, thanks for the response. I do check for visuses often and use Ad-Ware & Ultra WinCleaner for spyware and other junk. I set my email to open by double click only and check for updates before I check email(some what anal I guess). I don't get viruses (knock on wood) and remove spyware after each Internet surfing period. The software were games. Sudoku by Selectsoft Games and Gomoku by Casualarcade. I know some software have auto updates but you can usually tell. I had some like this happen a few years ago on a seperate computer but quit after several tries. This one has popped up for about 3 to 4 days now. Again Thanks!!!

That seems to be related to Microsoft's 'Malicious Software Removal Tool'.

Sorry, I do not check for private messages

I tried to contact microsoft and others with no help. So I tried another restore, but just a little further back and it seemed to have cured my problem. Just wish you could somehow find out where something like that came from. THANKS for all the help, really do appreciate it!!!!!
