Comment: Hey All, I am using the latest version of Winamp and have a question regarding properly understanding the time stated in the lower right of the player when many songs are queued up. I really need to understand this because I am putting together specific playlists for a wedding reception and would like to really know exactly how long a given playlist will be playing. Thanks a million for any help, Chuck For example, right now I have 132 songs loaded in the playlist window, and the time windows states 2:26/6:35:21+. Does this translate into six hours, thirty-five minutes, 21 seconds? The leading "2:26" does not apply to the current track playing as the current track is 3:17 in length.

Reply: (edit)Assuming the average commercial track is about four minutes long - six hours, thirty-five minutes & 21 seconds is 395.35 minutes which translates to roughly 99 songs (98.873). Obviously with 132 songs, your tracks are about one minute short on average compared to my commercial track correlation, all in all Winamp's figure is correct. So yes, the (6:35:21+.) translation is indeed six hours, thirty-five minutes, 21 seconds How To Ask Questions The Smart Way

Reply: (edit)I just took a look at Winamp. The leading time appears to be the length of the selected song - if you go into the playlist and then click on a song it will show the time there. The "+" indicates that Winamp isn't sure of the the total time length of the songs. If you load up many songs, for me at least, I have to scroll through the entire playlist to have Winamp refresh and determine the length of each song and then it will disappear. If I have a streaming track somewhere in the playlist, the + will also show up. If you select multiple songs, then you can see how long the entire length of all of the songs is.
