My PC won't boot, it was infected with sptware and i used ad-aware to remove it. every thing seemed fine until i connected it to the internet at which point it crashed and has refused to boot up since. I have tried to start it in safe mode (f8), it brings up the menu but which ever option i select has no effect the PC will not start. If i try to get into the BIOS at start up it has no effect. All that happens is when you turn the PC on it brings up the intial start up screen and that is it, no windows start up or anything else. Can anyone help?

You need to press "F8" to bring up the menu like before and if the machine doesnt boot into safe mode after 5-10 minutes, than you need to restart and select "Try last known good configuration" or some option like that to boot from a sort of backup that windows does automaticly. Unless you turned it off in windows. If all these options fail, you will probably just need to reload windows from the CD, there is an option on the CD that will allow you to keep everything the way it was and just reinstall the OS, it's not the repair option I can rememebr that much.
