Win XP Setup in Safe Mode

Comment:
hello
I started repairing Win XP Pro and after the Setup files were copied and the computer restarted, it did so in Safe Mode.
So I get a message that the SETUP cannot continue on Safe Mode so it restarts.
And that is endlessly.
I do not want to reisntall Win and loose all my files. Any ideas?

The clue may lie in the analysis of the the earlier symptom for which you decided to try "Repair" as the treatment option and the hardware/Software events (Addition/removal), if any, that preceded the first symptom. We know only what preceded the current symptom of failure to boot to Windows in Normal mode.
To know more about the Computer's Hardware for the purpose of troubleshoot, it will be good if you could give its Full Brand Name as well: Dell ------ ----- ?
At this stage, after all the treatments you have given, the only option could indeed be what you hate to do.. Reinstall:-( M
