HP usually requires you to make a set of recovery discs...They allow this only one time and prompt you to do it a few times. Did you make the recovery discs? More than like ly you will need to contact HP and see what they recommend as you have wiped out the recovery section!

You have Windows reinstalled and running, right? If so, you probably just need to install the proper drivers. You should be able to find them for download at support.hp.com

Go here--- http://h18000.www1.hp.com/
then click Product Support Information,
then enter in your exact Model name, and number,
then tick what information you want to know,
then proceed from there.

There is usually a partition on the hard drive with a recovery image. If a utility is used to wipe the drive clean, that removes the recovery option.
Note that a format of the C: drive does not affect that recovery partition, only a complere wipe of the drive will do it.
I suggest you follow the advice to contact HP.
