Hi there, Having a problem with an XP SP2 computer (Pentium 3 ) rebooting by itself a couple of times each day. It is an upgrade version from Windows 98 however it has been running fine for over a year since upgrading. I have replaced the power supply because I have seen them cause the problem however it is still doing it. I have checked the system log in "Event Viewer" and get firstly "Eventlog" Cat. "None" Event ID 6009 Description "Microsoft Windows 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2 Uniprocessor Free". The next Event "Save Dump" Cat. "None" Event ID 1001 Description "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was 0x100000d1(0x03020303, 0x00000002, 0xf8f273c70. A dump was saved in C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini081605-01.dmp. I have also noticed at times there have been other errors such as "Service Control Manager" Event ID 7024 Desc. The background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with service specific error 2147942402 (0x80070002) and also DCOM error Event ID 10010 Desc. The server {4991D..........9097} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
I hav ran 2 virus checks and both have been clean. I have also ran Adaware, Spybot and Microsoft Antispyware Beta and they are also clean.
Any suggestions ???

Try this...while your system is up, right-click the 'My Computer' icon and go to properties. Click on the Advanced tab and choose the Startup and Recovery Settings button. Under the System Failure section, uncheck the Automatically Restart box. This will allow you to see the error at its source.
On first thought, I would suspect bad RAM or possibly a corrupt section of system files. You can always try booting up to the XP CD and running a checkdisk /r to give your system files a good once over.
Hope this information is at least somewhat helpful.
EKUTech

if that doesnt work try this:
(1)
make sure the reset button is free and isnot sticking down...you kno that is the problem if you bump the pc and in restarts then(2)
try reseating the CPU or having someone do ithope my info is helpful
Good Luck/God Bless
