Yeah... there's something wrong with my computer. The fan is fine. When I start up, it freezes at the screen JUST before where it asks your password. Sometimes it doesn't freeze that soon. It gets working fine, everything runs okay, and then when I'm in the middle of things, it freezes. Sometimes it doesn't freeze.. it restarts, the screen goes black, or the screen goes WHITE. I ran Norton and scanned it.. no viruses. Then I uninstalled Norton. Still has problems. I start it in Safe mode, and it doesn't freeze. So I start uninstalling the drivers I installed, seeing which ones could be causing problems. Then it freezes! In SAFE MODE. I asked a teacher at school and he said maybe my power supply isn't powerful enough and it can't supply enough power... I have 1 hard disk, 1 cd-rom, 1 floopy, 5 fans, and a mother board. Too many fans? Should I just make it 3 fans? Or 2? In Safe mode with networking, before it froze, I got a chance to download Microsoft's upgraded AMD K7 processor driver, and I installed it. Still having problems. Do you think it's just XP? I did Safe mode with networking and it freezes. Maybe my internet drivers are messed up? I have wireless internet. I don't know what the problem is, because I tried everything. I installed drivers, I uninstalled drivers, I REinstalled drivers, I unplugged this, plugged in that, nothing. My CPU temperature is usually between 90 and 115 degrees F. That's not too hot, is it? So what can I do?

try this
1- start run msconfig boot.ini
check /bootlog.restart and let fail.
restart in safe mode and look at the bootlog file(root of "C")
2--control panel/administrative tools/event viewer..anything with a red X double click and read the error message

I tried that event viewer thing.. I have lots of red X's, but the recent ones are either "VSS" or "Event system" and the link that I click says "sorry, no information available." The computer froze today and restarted unexpectedly, but there is nothing in the event viewer with today's date. What is "VSS"? It says "Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr=0x80040206." For the EventSystem it says "The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRRESULT was 8007043C from line 44 of d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error." What does all that mean?

Ok.. I found out that you can disable VSS and EventSystem. So I did. But it still freezes, and when I go to the Event Viewer it says EventSystem still caused an error:

The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 80070422 from line 44 of d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

Please tell me how to fix up this problem. When I take off the side of the chassis the system doesn't freeze up as often or as quick. The main thing that happenes when I take off the side is that I disconnect 1 fan. Could this fan be causing too little power for the rest of it?
