Win XP Pro SP1 Freezing Constantly

I am having a constant problem with every game I play and it is driving me mad. Because DDR RAM is less expensive than RDRAM, I recently changed motherboards and went from a Intel D850EMV to a Asus P4P800 Deluxe. Everything else (1 WD 120GB Hard drive, TDK CDRW, Sony DRU500A) I left the same except the case. Using a Antec Lanboy and a Vantec heatsink.
Anyways, I have an ATI 9700 All In Wonder and an Audigy 2 Sound Card. I have a Kingston HyperX PC3200 DDR RAM 1GB.
Now every freaking game I play locks up after a few minutes or a few seconds where I can't use Ctrl Alt Del and I have to use the reset button on my case to restart. I have DirectX9 and on all the newest drivers for EVERYTHING, yet I keep having this problem. And for 1GB of RAM it sure doesn't perform like it. I have searched the internet for answers. Someone PLEASE help me!!! If I forgot someothing just ask...Thanks!

Are you sure that the videocard isn't overheating?

I get the same problem, but mine occurs about 6 hours into gaming rather than immediately. With me, it's heat, from the video card I presume, although it has a good fan on it.
Anyway, I knew mine was heat, as I set up a house fan to blow in my case, and with the extra air, it never hangs.
One of these days I'll get round to buying a system fan, lol.

I don't know of any programs that report videocard temps. Motherboard Monitor and SpeedFan are good temp monitoring programs for the rest of the system.
Hooner's box fan idea is what I was going to suggest. If pointing a box fan into your case solves your problem something is overheating.
