I have tried a few different computers and gotten the same result. With Windows XP pro clean installed. IIS is then installed. When I go to http://localhost it works fine. As soon as I log on to a Win 2000 domain local host (IIS) no longer seems to be working. It looks like it is on in the IIS administrator tools. I just can't bring any web pages up on it. The other strange thing is that this continues after taking the computer off the domain. In other words I can not get IIS to work unless I redo a clean install. Any ideas or anyone find this described elsewhere?
Thanks!

I don't know if this will help or not but, I have seen 2 other computers that did the exact same thing. A HP laptop almost took 2 mins to come ready. The good news is that a new Toshiba laptop with XP pro comes right up and everything is ready right away. I think it is drivers or something that normally was cloaked by the getting started screens you used to see in other Win OS's. This toshiba is using all Win XP driovers and a very new Bios. Good lUck.

First make shure ISS is installed on your XP machine, since it is not insalled as a default.

Control Panel
Add/Remove Programms
Windows Components
Double Click on IIS
Select WWW Service

Secondly you must install Terminal Services on your Windows 2000 Server. Same installation proceedure as above.

Thirdly make sure that your local group policy in XP has been set up.

To check this go to run
gpedit.msc
Computer Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
Terminal Services
