Hi, I did post the other week on here but i can't find the thread, it was concerning my pc's annoyingly slow boot time which is then followed by an obvious sluggishness in the os itself (xp pro).

I'm apparently virus & spyware free, so I just got thinking that maybe some how my ram is getting eaten up somewhere and resulting in my page file being used (once startup is complete page file usage is at 140 mb)

I've ran scandisk, defragmented & ran my pc in every configuration possible under mscongfig and still no luck. Safe mode however boots within 10 secs of the booting screen with no sluggishness at all.

Does anybody have any ideas, or possibly any suggestions as to sorting out my page file?

Thanks

I don't know if this is a page file problem. You said you have changed your config. with no success.I take this to mean that you shut down every program that you could at startup, and the problem still occurred.Since it doesn't happen when you start in safe mode,it could be a driver problem,as everything doesn't load as it does with a full start. The video driver and settings would be the first thing I would check.

Thanks trimmie, its good to hear some fresh advice. I'm running dual displays on 2 seperate cards so maybe there's something there, tho I would of expected it to have made an issue as soon as i installed the drivers and not randomly a couple of weeks afterwards...
