Comment:

I have recently upgraded from Win98 SE to XP Pro. Have set up user accounts for the family. My video (.avi) files are now shared docs. which work fine if I access them. I f anyone else tries to do so, media player only recognises them as audio files. This is very strange and anoyying. Any suggestions??

Are they DIVX? You might need to reinstall your codecs...

try this:
http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX505Bundle.exe

If it's another compression scheme you'll have to find out which one and reinstall them...but this is common for divx. =>D
