I am troubleshooting for 48hrs now...
System is basically almost a barebone, AMD 450 k3, 256MB, VIA Chipset MB, ATI VGA and connected to Win 2k ADS, DHCP Server. It boots up fine and fast. I press f8 and select Safe Mode With Networking it works just fine. If I boot normally it won't get to log on screen and hangs.
Have anyone seen this problem at all!!..please share with us ..aslo feel free to email me @ ifeanyi@globrock.com with the solution if you choose. Thanks.

Had you installed network drivers before (eg. Routing, NAT software or somthing else)? Check to remove w2k drivers of this kind.
I had this problem with w2k up to XP.

Ok. Thanks Guys. Here I am now tried all your helpful suggestions and with all the harware troubleshooting, Bios resets etc... so far.... I tried and also removed the NAT, RIP, OSPF vs 1 and.or 2, IGMP etc and tried using only Static router on the Windows 2000 ADS configured as DHCP server.
Setup Looked This Way:
Windows 2000 ADS running IIS, DHCP Router with the 192.168.0.1 ip addresses. And other machines work and connect to it and to internet just fine.
This other machine that is giving trouble ..a barebone, AMD 450 k6 3, 256MB, VIA Chipset MB, ATI VGA now runs pretty well on it's own no probs at all. OK, I disconnected/unplugged and shut down the server from the connecting hub...
Problem:Ok, now once I plugged in this Windows XP Pro into any type of HUB it freezes. Does it not like connecting to a hub or what?
Something gotta have come up with this solution..I hope to share the information as soon as it's we find it out. Help is needed ASAP please!

Hey
Welcome and join the club i have the same problem right now.
It is LAN Network connecting a XP HOME with a XP PRO mashine and i have no idea to fix it.
How did u get rid of that problem ???
Thanx
Candy

I assume that you have tried the latest drivers from the manuf~1? (sorry - not funny i know)
When you plug the fu**ked pc into the hub, what happens to the lights at the back of the card or on the hub? Flashy lights?
Sounds like ethernet card/drivers (probably drivers). You are running several pcs on a NW, you must have a spare ethernet card, why dont you try popping a different ethernet card in?
let me know if it works.
