OS: WIN XP SP 2
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon XP 2400; 1.5 G
Comment:

It started out of no where. When I turn the pc on, it goes therough the usual boot screen, memory test..etc and then shows the windows XP logo and after that, it's just a black screen. I can log into safe mode. But it does not start in normal mode. I ran a virus check from the safe mode but it didn't find anything (I have AVAST antivirus).

If anyone have any idea what might be causing this, please let me know.

MY config is :
AMD Athlon XP 2400 (2 Ghz)
1.5 GHz RAM (PC 2700)
sis315 128 MB 8X AGP card
win XP pro w/ SP2
Avast Antivirus
NEtgear Wirelles G Router
Airlink (Fry's store brand) USB wireless card
ISP: comcast

OK, from safemode uninstall your video drivers and disable all startup items then reboot.

When it boots ok in safe mode but not in normal mode, it's 'usually' a driver problem. I would do as Sabertooth says.
