I just bought a new computer so of course it had to come with windows xp. When I first connected to the internet with the new computer, I tried to go to my website, www.darkvomit.com. It wouldn't come up. After doing several tests, I realized that it's not my server, and it is in fact up and running. I then began to notice that there are alot of websites that I can't view on this system. When I did server checks on them, I noticed that my website and all of the others have something in common. They all run on apache/unix/Perl servers... Could this be a problem in XP??? I couldn't imagine that a program would be created with such a limitation but what the hell is going on?? Is this something that I have to configure? I have checked through my internet settings, and everything checks out fine as far as I know. Could this be my isp? DOes anyone have any knowledge to offer with this situation??? I have looked all over message boards, and no one seems to be having this problem! Please let me knoe. Email me at demonio_art@yahoo.com or respond to this message...
Also please check out my website http://www.darkvomit.com Let me know if it's up and running please!!
((Your help is extremely appreciated.))
Thank you.
Crystal

Yes, your site -- as sick as it is -- is working. Are you over 10 years old? Dark Vomit? And you actually believe in Satan? And God for that matter? It's the 21st century, Crystal - wake up and smell reality.

Have you checked the default settings on the security for your browser. It may be that you are not running activeX, plugins, cookies, or frames etc.
Was the ms firewall active on your default. I had trouble when I originally activated the ms firewall (I went back to zonealarm and had no troubles. There is some setting in the ms firewall that flushes some of the connections. I did not waste time looking for it.)

message to Allison:
Actually, I'm only nine years old...The information I am seeking doesn't pertain about the content I have displayed on my website. I am interested in resolving the issue with my internet problem.
I have no interest in explaining my beliefs to you, because I really don't care if you understand them or not. The website is not for everybody. I will say that I am not a satan worshipper... you obviously missed the message... and you should "join the 21st century" and get a sense of humor.

Please ignore this message and please continue on with the original matter. I still need help figuring this out, and not comments about irrelevant issues.
*The firewall is disabled already and it still doesn't work. I use Qwest dial-up internet access. It's not just being able to view these certain websites, but I can't access them at all. When I try to download from my websites POP3, I can see that I have 5 messages, but I can't download them. I can't send anything through SMTP. Also, when I try to log in to my account through an FTP program, I can log in but can't access any files or exchange information. It just freezes up. It's only with these certain websites, others are fine.
I am open to trying anything that may help...
Thank you.
Crystal

First thing you want to do is to go to windows update adn get ALL the updates. get the Java runtime or virtual machine, I think Microsoft calls it. I have XP and I could not load certain pages till I got the runtime. Email me if this works if not still email me cause I doubt I'll check this message board again.
Mozilla will conquer....someday...
