i all--great forum!!
Im a bit of a newbie to Macs but not computing in general. Have the new Macbook--its sweet!--I am going to partition the drive with Bootcamp. I have lost my Win XP install CD, but make copies of all my software on an external drive. I have the setup.exe file along with all the other files that were on the original Win XP CD on this drive.
questions:
How can I install XP on my mac? Can I use the the files on my external drive? Do I need to create a bootable CD from those files, and if so, how?
Also, The original CD was XP SP-1, can I use this instead of SP-2?
Thank you in advance, and I apologize if any Q's are painfully stupid.

You can't do an install by just copying files. You need an install CD.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
Sorry, I do not check for private messages

If you have the complete i386 folder that came from you original CD then you can use the method show on the website below to create yourself a bootable XP CD.
