installed 2600 build got as far as 39 min from installing it then it's saying
d:\1386\asms. error message incorrect funtion can't get the computer to work now any help please as to correct it

I have the same problem... i remove all the other components.. my computer is running only with minimum hardware. the error is: Error: Installation Failed: E:\I386\asms. Error Message: The parameter is incorect.
anyone know hoe to solve this?

I read a bunch of msg's about this, chances are, you, along with every other anti microsoft user, used an ISO. I know i know, software that would be dirt cheap if not ran by profitiering gluttons.
Well, heres the deal, the disc needs to be burned at DAO (Disc-At-Once), or the iso was bad. Solutions i've heard were ~ 1. Reburn CD after replaceing currupt file (how, no idea) 2. Reburn ISO at DAO 3. Copy cd to hdd and install from there (trying now as we speak)

hi frank i used nero at disc at once and also burn it at 2x speed hope this helps

I have the same problem trying to install on a partition of c:\ the process went along nicely even reformatted the partition on which was a bete of xp but then after restarting pc I got same error message installation failed F:\l386\asms the parameter is incorrect repeated tries brings me back to the same point. But now when I view drive E:\ partition where I was trying to install to I ca't see it , I am using Win ME as part of a dual boot and XP professional is part my work site licenced software
