I need some help on those who is very knowledgable in Win XP home networking.

I upgraded my operating systeem from win 98 to win xp HOME on my office laptop, and now i am able to access into the domain without any login and password required. I understand from the article (link below) that I am login in using "Authenticate cached credentials" and one thing is that i am able to check my email using Microsoft Outlook and able to telnet to a remote server.

http://www.chicagotech.net/domainfaqs.htm#Authenticate%20cached%20credentials

BUT, my shared network drive and shared printer is no longer available. Can anyone tell me how to use the NET Command to access to my network drive and my shared printer? I read the link above but i am confused.

My network printer used to be \\NSW-SERVER\HP1100
and
my network drive used to be G: "electrical" in "NSW-SERVER"

Please help!! Thanks!
Thanks.

With regards to the net use command, go to a cmd prompt and type:- net use /? this will give you all the command parameters for that command. If both computers are running xp or 2k you have to create accounts on both computers with same credentials, ie same username and password. Make sure the sharing tab for the printer is selected and select the users that can use the shared printer.
Hope this helps.

Are you trying to access this from outside or are you local? You have to make sure that the domain controller has your details setup.

XP home is doesn't support networking in a domain only peer to peer, if your office network has a server you will not be able to join the domain. But you should have no problem sharing files and printers in a peer to peer (workgroup)
