WIN XP HELP!

ok here is my problem, whenever i use any version of windows xp pro. It freezes when i start a download in IE, sometimes during gameplay in games, or sometimes at various points. But what i noticed is when i go to the troubleshooting menu in the display setting and move the slider to diable all crusor and advance drawing applications everything seems to work ok, but the games done work right what should i do? i have tried Nvidia dets 21.83 & 23.11 both WHQL thanks in advance!
