XP hangs up on boot
----------------------
I'm stuck in safe mode. Seems to work fine there but hangs up at balck XP screen while booting up in normal mode. I just changed monitors (to a crappy old panasonic for test purposes, was having major display problems with other HP. I think the HP is shot.) When I looked at event log in Control panel manager, it showed the error DCOM got error 3 times during boot "This service cannot be started in Safe Mode " attempting to start the service EventSystem with arguments "" in order to run the server: {1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B726-00C04FB926AF} Also in normal mode my red light is on when it locks up. Also I don't know if this is related, but should I have SIS900 Sis fast ethernet adapter, PCI modem, and Creative EM10K1 audio processor(WDM) all on IRQ11? (Not using PCI modem)
Thanks so much for your help, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

How
to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP
To help troubleshoot error messages or other
issues when you cannot determine the cause of
the issue, disable common startup programs,
settings, and drivers to eliminate possible
software conflicts when you start Microsoft
Windows XP. This procedure is known as
"clean booting."
(Can be done by way of Windows Safe-Mode,
but where it says RESTART, restart into normal
Windows.)
How to perform advanced clean-boot troubleshooting in Windows XP
and that one is a heavy duty article.Print the articles for reference.
