I was wondering if anyone could suggest any solution. When I boot my computer up in XP, it get startup background and jut hangs for about 10 minutes and eventually displays my icons and task bar. The hard drive light is not flashing throughout this time. My computer has been running fine previously. I haven't installed any new programs so im really at a loss. I also tried a system restore to a week ago and the same problem occurs. It was previously taking 1 minute to boot up and now its taking 10 minutes plus. Any suggestions ?

See event viewer. Setup performance monitor. As above. Clean install. Normal issue is drivers. Might look at driver rollback. I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Until you get it fixed, you *might* could manually start Explorer by holding the Ctrl Alt and Delete buttons at the same time. This brings the Task Manager up. Go to File>New Task (Run...) and type explorer and push enter. Jesus can change your life for the better!
